Sunkanmi Omobolanle, the Nollywood actor, has celebrated becoming a British citizen, expressing gratitude to God and his wife, Abimbola, for their support throughout his journey.
The actor announced the milestone on Thursday through his Instagram page, where he shared a video of himself celebrating with his wife.
Omobolanle, who appeared grateful for the development, credited God and his wife for helping him along the way.
“Grateful for the journey so far,” he wrote.
“It’s all been God and you wifey @glitzadore. Baba yin ti di #britiko o.”
The actor did not disclose further details about his citizenship process in the announcement.
Omobolanle is the son of veteran comic actor Sunday Omobolanle, popularly known as Papi Luwe. He has featured in several Yoruba-language films, including ‘Gongo Aso,’ ‘Eti Keta,’ ‘Alakada 2,’ ‘Jail,’ ‘Ofeefe’ (Mirage) and ‘The Alternative’.
Beyond acting, he has also worked as a film producer and director.
The actor married Abimbola in 2011, and they have a daughter together.
His announcement comes shortly after veteran Nigerian rapper Lord of Ajasa revealed that he had become a United States citizen. The rapper shared photographs and videos from his citizenship ceremony on Instagram on Wednesday.
