L.A.X, the Nigerian singer, and his wife, Ella, have held their Nikkah ceremony, formalising their union under Islamic law.
A Nikkah is an Islamic marriage ceremony through which a couple formalises their union in accordance with Islamic law.
The ceremony comes weeks after the couple announced their civil wedding, which took place in Malta in September.
The singer had shared pictures from the ceremony on Instagram, expressing his excitement about marrying his partner.
“Legally hitched to the love of my life, in the most beautiful city,” L.A.X wrote. “Malta, you have our hearts.”
The couple’s latest ceremony follows their January engagement. L.A.X proposed to Ella on January 16, 2026.
Born Damilola Afolabi, the singer began his musical journey as a rapper while in secondary school. He formed a music group called Flyboiz before eventually pursuing a solo career.
He rose to prominence in 2013 after releasing ‘Caro’, a collaboration with Wizkid under Starboy Entertainment.
The song earned a nomination for ‘Hottest Single of the Year’ at the 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
Following the success of ‘Caro’, L.A.X reunited with Wizkid for another collaboration, ‘Ginger’, further boosting his profile in the Nigerian music industry.
