Nigeria and Napoli’s forward Victor Osimhen has further shown his dissatisfaction with Nigerian fans.
In a new video trending on social media platform X, some Super Eagles players were seen at the airport returning from Ivory Coast after their final match at the AFCON 2023.
The players were approached by the media who patiently awaited their return, although they got a very lucid reaction from the Eagles.
In the video, Alex Iwobi who was recently a victim of cyber-bullying from agitated Nigerian fans could be seen visibly shaking and ignoring questions from journalists. Iwobi hastily walked past expectant journalists who wanted to know how the star felt after an incredible run at the AFCON tournament.
Victor Osimhen who followed closely behind Iwobi was asked, “Osimhen how does it feel to be back home please?” Osimhen replies with, “Make una free me abeg, make una free me”, which is Nigerian slang for “Leave me alone”.
Alex Iwobi and Victor Osimhen were having none of that.

Reactions following the video have geared towards the direction of Osimhen still being disappointed at the bullying Alex Iwobi and other players have had to face because of the AFCON loss. Also, Iwobi’s silence has been thought to be out of fear of his words being misconstrued and his desire to stay away from prying eyes on social media for now.
Nigeria’s Centre-back and Alex Iwobi’s teammate at Premier League Club Fulham, Calvin Bassey, could also be seen in the video. Although he gave answers to the media, his gloomy expression could not be ignored.
Still expressing regrets and apologizing to Nigerians was Stanley Nwabali, who was also part of the players approached by the media at the airport.
Recall that Alex Iwobi deleted his Instagram posts and went silent after he was bullied and blamed for Nigeria’s loss to Ivory Coast. The Super Eagles have since come together to show their support for him on social media.
