Chessmaster, Tunde Onakoya, has shared that an anonymous person generously gifted a house to his parents.
This heartwarming gesture comes shortly after Tunde made headlines for breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon in New York.
While the official verdict from Guinness World Records remains pending, the spirit he exhibited throughout the marathon has already won him admiration and acclaim locally and internationally.
Expressing his gratitude on social media, Tunde shared, “Today, an angel blessed my parents with a new home. It stands as the epitome of the greatest act of kindness I’ll ever witness in this lifetime. Thank you.”
He continued, “My mother worked tirelessly as a janitor at the institution where I pursued my education, while my father navigated the chaotic streets as a Danfo driver and conductor, striving to provide for our family. To give them the life they deserve is the greatest joy life could bestow upon me.”
Last Friday, Tunde Onakoya secured a new Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon, playing for an astounding 60 hours. Initially aiming for 58 hours, he extended his playtime by two additional hours in Times Square, New York, United States.
