Nigerian food content creator, Brian Nwana has made public his intentions to break the Guinness World Record for most restaurant visits in 24 hours.
The record attempt tagged “Brian Abuja Food Quest” will take place in Abuja. the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria and is scheduled for April 24-25, 2024.
The current record is held by an American simply known as Airrack, who visited 100 restaurants in 24 hours in New York City, USA.
According to the Guinness World Record website, the current record holder set the record between December 29-30, 2023.
Speaking at his press briefing, Brian Nwana said, “Our target is to surpass this Guinness World record by visiting a minimum of 120 fast food restaurants within a 24-hour timeframe.”
While speaking on the motivation behind his record attempt, the content creator said, “I want to put Nigerian food on the map by showcasing the different kinds and varieties of food that we have in the country”.
“As a food content creator, I have seen how the economic situation in the country has affected food businesses, so I want to use this attempt and opportunity to promote food businesses in Abuja. Also, I want to use the attempt to give back to my community by collaborating with the spots I visit to give free meals to people in the community who really need it”, he added.
Through conducting restaurant reviews throughout the nation’s states, Brian Nwana has amassed a sizable following in the Nigerian culinary and entertainment industries.
The team has applied to the Guinness World Records according to project manager Edoh Franklin and will abide by any guidelines suggested by the organisation, particularly those about live tracking and mapping.
Brian’s attempt is coming just a few days after Nigerian chess master, Tunde Onakoya broke the world record for the longest time playing chess without losing a game at Times Square, New York City.
