The embattled world football governing body, FIFA has introduced a series of reforms in the run up to its elections later today.
The most significant of the reforms passed is one that now places tenure limits on FIFA’s president. FIFA presidents are now limited to only three tenures.
FIFA has faced credibility issues as it struggles to get past corruption allegations which forced the removal of former President, Sepp Blatter as well General Secretary, Jerome Volcke.
The FIFA president will also be required to disclose his salary in a bid to increase transparency.
The five candidates in today’s elections are Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim al-Khalifa, Gianni Infantino, Prince Ali bin al-Hussein, Tokyo Sexwale and Jerome Champagne.
