With the release of ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem’, the animated smash movie from 2023, Paramount Pictures is continuing the turtle power with a brand-new feature project in development.
This one, however, will venture into a gritty, R-rated area rather than the all-ages content for which the beloved series is renowned.
A famous narrative from the most current IDW comics is being adapted for a live-action film called ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin‘, which Paramount plans to make R-rated.
The script is being written by Tyler Burton Smith, who also co-wrote the 2019 adaptation of the Chucky horror franchise, ‘Child’s Play’.
Walter Hamada’s multi-year agreement with the studio includes production through his company, 18hz Productions.
Furthermore, Last Ronin is as scary as a Turtles story gets. The comic miniseries, set in an authoritarian future New York City, narrated the story of the master Splinter and the grandson of the evil Shredder eliminating the Turtles one by one with the help of synthetic ninjas. A single turtle barely makes it out alive and swears to take brutal revenge.
The date for the official release of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live-action movie is yet to be announced, but we will bring you details as they unfold.
