Actress and movie producer Funke Akindele has announced her upcoming project, ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa,’ as part of the popular #Jenifa franchise set for release December 2024.
Details about the film’s distribution, whether it will premiere in cinemas or on streaming platforms, remain undisclosed at this time.
‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’ is expected to expand on the success of the popular comedy franchise that began with ‘Jenifa,’ followed by ‘The Return of Jenifa,’ and the acclaimed TV series ‘Jenifa’s Diary.’
The first in the franchise starred Funke Akindele as Jenifa, a village girl who travelled to the city searching for fortune. Her quest led her to join a clique of immoral women, leaving her with ups and downs.

Transitioning to television, ‘Jenifa’s Diary’ showcased Funke Akindele alongside Juliana Olayode, Lota Chukwu, Paschaline Alex, Lolo1, Falz, Joy Nice, and Michael Uba.
Funke Akindele’s recent project, ‘A Tribe Called Judah,’ premiered in cinemas in December 2023 and achieved a groundbreaking box office milestone, grossing over N1 billion within 21 days of release.
This achievement surpassed her previous hits ‘Battle on Buka Street’ (N668.4m) and ‘Omo Ghetto’ (N636.1m), currently ranked as the second and third highest-grossing Nigerian films at the box office, respectively.
‘A Tribe Called Judah‘ featured an ensemble cast including Nse Ikpe Etim, Funke Akindele, Timini Egbuson, Ebelle Okaro, Uzor Arukwe, Genoveva Umeh, and Nosa Rex, among others. The film is now available for streaming on Prime Video.
