Producer and writer Laju Iren premiered her faith-based romantic comedy “Mistakenly Yours” after the success of the pre-sale ticket. The film debuts on March 29th and April 1st, 2024.
The film directed by the award-winning director, Biodun Stephens, follows the story of a successful filmmaker, pressured by her family to marry, who engages in a fake engagement with a struggling clergyman seeking marriage for a promotion.
The film stars some of Nollywood’s most talented actors & actresses including Stan Nze, Tomike Adeoye, Omotunde Adebola David, Chinoso Arubayi, and Olayode Juliana, among others.
After the private screening of the movie, the viewers shared reviews about the movie.
One viewer said, “The romantic scenes were not cliche, that both characters were in sync”. Another one commended Laju Iren’s storytelling skills as the message passed across from the film was relatable to the target market.
Speaking on the movie, the lead actor, Stan Nze, shared that at some point on set, it was difficult to enact the ‘Pastor’ role but he gave it his all. He also said he enjoyed the plot as it had Godly lessons that didn’t seem condescending to secular people.
Laju Iren shared the challenges they faced on set while filming such as flooding, the two major cast involvement in an accident, and going through all these with an eight-month pregnancy was not easy. She ended the premiere with a vote of thanks to the cast and crew members who were as invested as she was in the storyline of ‘Mistakenly Yours’. (045)

The film made over 16 million naira in pre-ticket sales and has been recorded as the ‘Highest Ticket Pre-orders for an unreleased Film’ and ‘Biggest Paid Premiere of the Year.
