The Federal Government has set aside Friday, 29t March, and Monday, April 2024 as public holidays to celebrate the 2024 Good Friday and Easter Monday in Sequential Order. This was declared by the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, urging all Christians to walk in the part of Christ and emulate his sacrifice of love and compassion towards one another and Nigeria as a whole.
The minister also went ahead saying, that Easter, is beyond religious significance, and promotes values of love, forgiveness, and compassion which are essential for social cohesion and harmony. He urges Christians to embrace these virtues, as they hold the potential to foster unity, diminish conflicts, and promote cooperation among Nigerians, consequently contributing to socio-economic development in Nigeria.
He additionally encouraged Nigerians to demonstrate acts of philanthropy and benevolence to aid in alleviating the material circumstances of the less fortunate among them. He emphasized that this aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President.
As he extends warm Easter wishes to Christians both domestically and internationally, the Minister also urged Nigerians to collaborate with the Tinubu-led Administration in its commitment to fostering sustainable development and fostering prosperity for all.
