The maiden edition of Afro Nation Nigeria, which was scheduled to take place on December 19 and 20, 2023, has been canceled. In a statement released on October 31, 2023, the organizers of the show announced that the event was canceled due to the impossibility of delivering a show of the quality that Nigeria deserves.
The statement read: “As event organizers, we hold ourselves to extremely high standards and it has become clear to us that it is currently not possible to deliver a show that is of the quality that Nigeria deserves in December 2023.”
The statement went on to express their heartfelt disappointment at not being able to celebrate with their fans in Nigeria this year.
For those who had purchased tickets, the organizers assured that all tickets, including booking fees, will be refunded, and ticket buyers will receive an email with instructions regarding the refund process.
Previously, Afro Nation Nigeria had announced a lineup of headliners, including Burna Boy, J Hus, Flavour, Seyi Vibez, and Black Sherif, for the two-day event set to take place at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos.
