Each year on International Women’s Day, the Forbes Woman Africa Leading Women Summit and Awards Gala Dinner celebrates women from all over Africa who have made significant contributions to their fields.
The 2024 edition took place on March 8th at Centre Court, Johannesburg, South Africa, and recognized women in various categories.
Media Mogul, Mosunmola Abudu, was honored with the Business Woman of the Year for making a significant impact in the media industry.
Mo Abudu is the CEO of EbonyLife Media, a media group that houses EbonyLife studios, EbonyLife Creative Academy, a school focused on building the next generation of Filmmakers, and EbonyLife Place, Nigeria’s first lifestyle entertainment resort.
Her impact doesn’t end in the Nigerian media space, Forbes named her as Africa’s Most successful woman, and rated by The Hollywood Reporter as one of the ‘25 most powerful women in Global Television“.
Mo Abudu has shown her prowess in filmmaking as she has produced and co-produced some blockbusters that have hit the cinemas and Netflix including, ‘The Wedding Party‘, ‘Oloture’, ‘Chief Daddy‘, ‘And ‘Your Excellency‘, among others.
Her impact on the Nigerian media industry and African entertainment is immeasurable.
