Grammy Award-winning American Singer and rapper, Nelly, has opened up about his era in music and how difficult it was.
Nelly disclosed that his musical era was the most difficult in hip-hop history during an interview with the hosts of the TV show “The Shop.” He stated it was battle contending with the top guys for the top spot, which is why he came up with this notion.
Further buttressing his point, he said, “When I put out songs, I had to go against DMX, Jay-Z, Eminem, Lil Wayne, 50cent, Ludacris. All of us are fighting for one spot”.
Nelly also claimed that the year 1999-2010 was the hardest era in hip-hop ever.
The rapper has a sterling career spanning over two decades. His phenomenal catalog and discography include the 2000 hit song, ‘Ride Wit Me’ featuring City Spud, and the 2002 monster single, ‘Dilemma’ featuring Kelly Rowland which sold over 7.6 million records worldwide, amongst others.
