Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal is set to bring an end to his coaching career after his not so good spell at the English giants as the pressure mounts on him. British press reports.
The 64 year old Dutchman who had ealier insisted that he would stay at the club until the end of his contract in the 2016/17 season despite growing discontent over his cautious and rigid approach to the game, came very close to throwing the towel during a unimpressive run of results last December.
An improvement in results – if not performances – appeared to have eased the strain on him, but close sources reveal he wants to call time on his managerial career as it would be best for him, the club and the fans.
His decision doesn’t come as a surprise as the club has spent in excess of £250 million under his watch, yet they appear to have regressed, and the Holy Grail of a top four finish is by no means assured.
