Speaking to the press after the match, Arsenal’s head coach, Mikel Arteta said,
“Credit to them. We had a lot of momentum in the first half. We weren’t precise with the ball, there were no sequences in the right areas and we struggled to get the ball in the areas we had it in the first half. You have to congratulate your opponent. When you’re at this level, you have to punish them. We haven’t done that.”
Arsenal midfielder, Declan Rice agreed with his coach when he spoke to Sky Sports post-match.
“It’s tough, really tough to take, especially with the chances we had in the first half and what we created in the space there was. We had to take one of them and we didn’t”.
