Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is having what will undoubtedly go down as one of the worst seasons of his career. His travails on and off the pitch paint a picture of a head coach who’s struggling to stay on top of a situation which seems to be spiraling out of control.¨
Chelsea suffered a fifth loss of the season on Sunday to West Ham at Upton Park and some one of the match’s low points was the decision of the officials to send an irate Mourinho off the touchline and into the stands.
The Football Association has been charged with misconduct over his language and behavior after the referee decided to send off Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic.
Mourinho was fined by the FA two weeks ago after his comments about match officials and will now face fresh charges for speaking to the referee at half time. Mourinho’s assistant who was also dismissed during the match is also going to face charges.
Chelsea and West Ham have been charged with failing to conduct their players in a match that saw the referee show more than five yellow cards.
Jose Mourinho will be required to explain why he did not show up for the post match press conference before the FA makes their decision.
