Nigerian singer Zlatan Ibile and his partner, Davita Lamai, have kicked off their white wedding festivities in Marrakesh, Morocco, ahead of their main ceremony.
The couple arrived in the North African city on Tuesday. Videos circulating online show them celebrating at a welcome party with friends and family.
In one of the videos, Zlatan and Davita made separate grand entrances on an “amaria”. Four men carried each of them into the venue.
In Moroccan and other North African wedding traditions, couples use an amaria for grand entrances during celebrations. The bride and groom sit on the ceremonial platform as attendants carry them.
Singer Davido, comedian Carter Efe and Tunde Perry were among the celebrities who attended the welcome party.
The gathering marks the start of the couple’s wedding celebrations ahead of their white wedding ceremony.
Zlatan and Lamai have been together for several years. They share two sons, Shiloh and Benaiah.
In October, the couple held a star-studded traditional wedding in Lagos. Several entertainers and other prominent personalities attended the ceremony.
Zlatan rose to fame in 2019 with songs such as ‘Zanku’, ‘Shotan’ and ‘Lagos Anthem’.
The singer has built a reputation for his energetic delivery and street-inspired sound. His music blends Afrobeats, hip-hop and indigenous rhythms. His recent projects include the 2025 album ‘Symbol of Hope’.
