Wande Coal Teams Up With Wizkid for ‘Oshe’ on New Album ‘King Coal’

Nigerian singer Wande Coal has featured Afrobeats superstar Wizkid on Oshe, one of the standout tracks on his newly released 15-track album, ‘King Coal’, as the pair combine their signature sounds in a celebration of success, romance and good vibes.

The collaboration sees Wizkid open the song with energetic lyrics about wealth, confidence and enjoyment while also referencing popular dancer Poco Lee.

“Money come mo gbe mi o/ Vibes just dey body, oh boy oh/ Nothing like kó ma jo o/ I like money, sá gbe wá bé o/ Pulling up, andale oh/ Move like Poco Lee, oh / Make body ko de le/ Nobody fit do am like me/ Is it tonight don’t stop/ Make fine girl put body on me, I like motion, my type,” he sings.

Wande Coal follows with a playful verse praising a woman who captures attention wherever she goes, blending English, Pidgin and Yoruba while referencing Lagos communities including Ojuelegba and Mushin.

“King Solomon with concubines/ I don’t wanna waste your time, but I’m not here to teach you lines/ Why didn’t you bring the vibe?/ And like stars in the sky, you take all the shine /You take all the shine/ Why won’t you be mine, babe?/ Iwo lo ja ju/ Iwo gangan lo gbé mi s’ókàn / Awon têmi gan gbadun (Gbadun)/ Make you no go dey slogo, slogo, slogo (Yepa)/ This your body be like weapon (Weapon),” he sings.

Beyond Wizkid, ‘King Coal’ features BNXN, Tiwa Savage, Qing Madi, Projexx, LAZ, Fido, Dera and Ruger, underscoring Wande Coal’s effort to bring together some of the biggest voices across contemporary Afrobeats.
