Odumodublvck and Blaqbonez Battle for Best Rap Album at 18th Headies

Odumodublvck and Blaqbonez Best Rap Album battle has taken on extra significance following their highly publicised feud within Nigeria’s hip-hop scene. The rivalry between both rappers has developed into a widely followed dispute involving music, social media, and personal tensions.

Their latest awards showdown comes after The Headies released its 18th edition nominations on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. Odumodublvck earned a Best Rap Album nomination for ‘The Machine Is Coming’, while Blaqbonez received recognition for ‘No Excuses’.

The category also includes Tuff King’s Black Sheepizen (The 13th Disciple), A-Q’s GE3 (The Beginning), Erigga’s G.O.A.T, and Jeriq’s King. However, the presence of Odumodublvck and Blaqbonez immediately stands out because their relationship has deteriorated considerably over recent years.

Their feud intensified through diss records and social-media exchanges, turning what began as competitive rap energy into a bigger rivalry. Blaqbonez reignited the dispute with “ACL,” a track from his 2025 album ‘No Excuses’ that contained direct shots at Odumodublvck.

Odumodublvck subsequently responded to the ongoing tensions, with the rivalry continuing to attract attention from Nigerian hip-hop fans. Their competing albums now bring the feud into one of Nigeria’s most prestigious music award categories.

The Headies considered music released between August 1, 2024, and April 30, 2026 for this year’s nominations. Both rappers also secured recognition in other categories, demonstrating their broader impact during the eligibility period.

The 18th Headies carries the theme “Africa to the World” and will take place in Toronto, Canada, later this year. For fans, the Best Rap Album category offers another opportunity to compare two rappers whose rivalry has dominated Nigerian hip-hop conversations.

Beyond their personal differences, the award will ultimately recognize the strongest rap album among six nominated projects. Whether ‘The Machine Is Coming’ or ‘No Excuses’ emerges victorious, the result could add another memorable chapter to their already intense rivalry.

The Odumodublvck and Blaqbonez Best Rap Album contest therefore carries both artistic significance and the added tension surrounding their ongoing feud.
