An attack on a mall in Baghdad has left twelve people dead and 25 people injured.

Four unidentified attackers set off a car bomb at the entrance of the Jawhara mall before storming the mall and taking hostages.

The gunmen have reportedly taken hostages with at least 50 people thought to be trapped in the mall. The mall has been surrounded by policemen and soldiers.

It is not immediately clear what group is responsible for the attack but many speculate the attackers are ISIL fighters.
