A young Nigerian girl who trended online some months ago who was accused of murdering her boyfriend and four others by poisoning the Peppersoup she made for them has finally regained her freedom.
The girl whose name was revealed to be Peculiar Osarowentan, was yesterday, January 31, 2025, freed and cleared of all the charges levelled against her.
Recall that in the later months of 2024, a young lady trended on social media who was tagged as Peculiar “the Peppersoup girl“. She was accused then of poisoning the food she gave her boyfriend and his friends.
Peculiar was tagged as the prime suspect in the murder of five persons in Edo State. The deceased persons included four boys and one girl.
The young lady was almost lynched by an angry mob who stormed Peculiar’s father’s house after reports about her Peppersoup ending the lives of five persons went viral.
What killed Peculiar’s ex-boyfriend and friends revealed
One of the reasons Peculiar survived the lynching attempt by the angry mob who accused her of killing her boyfriend was her father’s resolute defence of his daughter.
During investigations, Peculiar’s father was adamant that his daughter didn’t leave the house throughout the day which the said crime was claimed to have happened.
In a recent interview, after Peculiar was cleared of all the charges levelled against her, she shared that after investigations it was revealed that it was generator fumes that killed her boyfriend and his friends.
