A viral claim suggesting that Funke Akindele ignored Fuji star Wasiu Alabi Pasuma at a recent event has been dismissed by the actress, who says the moment was misrepresented and blown out of proportion online.
The controversy began after clips and posts circulated on social media alleging that Akindele snubbed Pasuma during a public appearance. The interpretation quickly gained traction, sparking debate among fans and fueling speculation about tension between the two entertainers.
Responding to the claims, Akindele made it clear that the narrative does not reflect what actually happened. She explained that she acknowledged Pasuma when they met at the event and even shared a light, friendly moment with him, including dancing. According to her, there was no form of disregard or awkward exchange as suggested online.
She also addressed the tone of the conversation that followed the viral post, pushing back against what she described as unnecessary negativity. Akindele emphasised that Pasuma remains someone she respects deeply, referring to him as her “Egbon,” a term used in Yoruba culture to show seniority and respect.
The actress’s clarification has since shifted the conversation, with many fans noting how easily public moments can be misinterpreted when only short clips or partial footage are shared. Others pointed out that celebrity interactions are often judged without full context, leading to avoidable misunderstandings.
