Amazon has launched a monthly video streaming service, ‘Prime Video’ which starts off at just $8.99 per month. Amazon’s new standalone service will put them in direct competition with the world’s most popular video streaming service, Netflix as well as Hulu.
Although Amazon launched its subscription video service five years ago, it has always been a yearly subscription at $99 per year but it in a bid to increase its market share,
Like Netflix, Amazon is developing its own original content but it will definitely find it an uphill task to match the success of Netflix shows like ‘House Of cards’ and ‘Orange Is the New Black’.
Amazon has developed content like “The Man in the High Castle,” “Red Oaks”, “Transparent,” “Mozart in the Jungle,” “Catastrophe,” “Bosch,” and “Hand of God.”
Prime Video also offers older HBO programs like ‘Suits’, ‘Vikings’, ‘The Good Wife’ and ‘Black Orphan’.
