Marvel Expands ‘X-Men’ Cast With Inde Navarrette, Christopher Abbott and Adam Driver

Marvel Studios has added four major stars to its upcoming “X-Men movie.

Inde Navarrette will play Rogue, while Christopher Abbott will portray Professor X. Adam Driver will play the villainous Mr Sinister. Maya Boyd will play Storm.

Marvel Studios executive Kevin Feige announced the new cast members at D23 on Friday.

The cast also includes Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops and Samara Weaving as Emma Frost.

Marvel will release the new “X-Men” movie in cinemas on May 5, 2028. The film will mark the team’s official entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The X-Men last appeared as a team in Fox’s 2019 movie “Dark Phoenix.” The film starred James McAvoy as Professor Charles Xavier and Michael Fassbender as Magneto.

Jennifer Lawrence played Mystique, while Sophie Turner portrayed Jean Grey. Tye Sheridan played Cyclops, and Alexandra Shipp starred as Storm.

The younger cast also appeared in Fox’s “First Class,” “Days of Future Past” and “Apocalypse.”

Fox previously featured an older group of X-Men stars. Patrick Stewart played Professor X, while Ian McKellen portrayed Magneto. James Marsden played Cyclops, and Halle Berry starred as Storm.

Several of those original stars will return in this year’s “Avengers: Doomsday.” They will join MCU characters to battle Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr.

Some former X-Men stars have already returned in Marvel’s “Deadpool & Wolverine.” Channing Tatum also debuted as Gambit in the film. He will reprise the role in “Avengers: Doomsday.”

Fox’s X-Men franchise ended with the 2020 spinoff “New Mutants.” The new Marvel movie will now introduce a fresh generation of mutants to the MCU.
