Enugu State will host the 2026 Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards in November.
Peter Mbah, the state governor, has secured the hosting rights for the prestigious film industry event.
Seun Oloketuyi, founder of the BON Awards, announced the development on Instagram on Friday.
Oloketuyi led a delegation to Enugu to formally hand over the hosting rights to Mbah.
The delegation included Feranmi Olaoye, executive producer of the awards, Tomi Falade, Nollywood actor Enyinna Nwigwe and Olukizzy Michael.
Oloketuyi said Mbah had promised to deliver a world-class ceremony in November.
“Yesterday evening, I led a team comprising BON Executive Producer @feranmiolaoye @Onaolatomirin together with Actor @a_yinna, @olukizzymichael. To give the hosting rights of the 2026 BON Awards to the Enugu Governor @pnmbah, who promised to host a world-class event in November,” he wrote.
The 2026 ceremony will bring together major figures in Nigeria’s film industry.
The event will also recognise individuals who have made significant contributions to Nollywood.
In July, the BON Awards committee announced four recipients for its 2026 Special Recognition Awards.
They include veteran actor Pete Edochie, actress Ruth Kadiri, Peju Ogunmola and Steve Sodiya.
The organisers said they selected the four honourees for their contributions to different areas of the Nollywood industry.
“The organisers of the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards have pulled back the curtain on this year’s special honourees, naming veteran and leading industry figures Chief Pete Edochie, Ruth Kadiri, Peju Ogunmola, and Steve Sodiya as the recipients of its prestigious Special Recognition Awards,” the statement read in part.
The November ceremony will mark another major gathering of Nollywood stars and industry professionals in Enugu.
