Nigerian actress Osas Ighodaro has been unveiled as the lead star of ‘Imported Bahu’, a new Nollywood-Bollywood vertical drama series set to premiere on July 2.
Ighodaro shared the trailer on her social media platforms. She introduced the project as the first vertical micro-drama from Forever 7 Entertainment, founded by Nigerian-Indian filmmaker Hamisha Daryani Ahuja.
The series also stars Rajniesh Duggall. It explores themes of love, family and secrecy. The story follows an “imported wife” whose arrival disrupts her husband’s Indian family. In the trailer, Ighodaro appears to play the central character.
Announcing the project, the actress revealed that she stepped away from regular productions to focus on the series.
“For months, we’ve been keeping a secret. Today, we’re finally sharing it. Introducing ‘Imported Bahu’ – @forever7entertainment’s first vertical microdrama series,” she wrote.
“A story of love, family, secrets, and one Imported Bahu who turns everything upside down.”
‘Imported Bahu’ is the first production from Forever 7 Entertainment. The company aims to strengthen creative ties between Nollywood and Bollywood through cross-cultural storytelling.
The drama will debut on Lebara Play, Africa’s telecoms-owned micro-drama platform.
Ighodaro began her acting career in New York. She appeared in theatre productions and independent films before moving into Nollywood through the TV series ‘Tinsel’ and the film ‘Adanna’.
She has won the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards Best Actress in a Drama award twice. Her notable film credits include Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story and Man of God.
