In what will surely make some chuckle in a dramatic turn of events; former central bank Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was visited by his former boss even as the latter is on the campaign trail seeking a reelection in what will surely go down as his sternest political test yet.
Sanusi Lamido Sanusi who is now the Emir of Kano and one of the most influential traditional rulers was suspended by Goodluck Jonathan last year after the duo had a falling out amid allegations of missing 20 billion dollars.
There were speculations in some quarters that the President tried to make moves to prevent Sanusi Lamido from emerging as Emir.
However, the tables were turned yesterday as the President and his delegation came seeking an endorsement. In the words of the President; ““I am here to seek your royal blessing and to reassure the people of Kano that the PDP is totally committed to developing the country, Democracy is all about giving people the chance to make their choice and so, there is no need for violence,” he said.”
Sanusi in turn simply prayed for the emergence of leaders who would move the country forward. It is thought highly unlikely for the Emir to throw his support behind President Goodluck Jonathan as he has been very vocal in his condemnation of the President in the past.
