Rubies Ink Initiative is using this medium to appreciate support from Nigerians on their ‘College Acquaintance Rape Education’ project. Read their message below.
We thank Nigerians for supporting our College Acquaintance Rape Education (C.A.R.E), a Project that was born out of our years of organizing the Walk Against Rape Campaign , we saw a need to sensitize young Nigerians of Secondary school age on the scourge of Rape, sexual assault and and also “Talk the Walk”as we have the highest number of Silent Victims among this age group.
As soon as we made our intention public on social media with the #SHARE4CARE #5000booksdonation campaign, people’s reaction were encouraging says Esther Ijewere- Kalejaiye (Founder/Executive Director of Rubies Ink Initiative) – top among the ‘early birds’ to key into the program by supporting the cause of donating the rape-book to students were Japheth Omojuwa, Olorisupergal, Dotun (OAP coolfm) ,Ladun Liadi and many others who chose to be anonymous. We also appreciate every other person that played one part or the other to make the Rape guidebook (Breaking The Silence) donation a success.
In the same vein, we want to inform members of the public that the book donations kicked off at our annual “Lagos State Ministry of Education approved All Secondary School Summit” – Project Capable, which was well attended, with over 1000 secondary school students participating, Mi Abaga, Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi, Tolu Sangosanya and Lanre Messan were some of the facilitators at the event.
