Spanish football club, Real Sociedad have handed David Moyes a 20 month contract to coach the first team until June 30, 2016. This is Moyes’ first return to managing a football side since his dour 10-month spell at Manchester United ended last season after the club failed to secure a champions league qualification for the first time since 1995.
In a report on Real Sociedad’s website, details for the official presentation of David Moyes and his backroom staff will be finalised today (Tuesday).
The La Liga side had been looking for a new manager since Jagoba Arrasate was sacked last weekend after managing to guide the team to one win in their opening ten games and sees them lie in 15th place in the table. Despite their poor run of form, it is important to note that Sociedad has managed a win against Real Madrid this season and secured their second win on Sunday by beating champions Atletico Madrid.
Former United boss Moyes, who had a previous impressive 11-year spell at Everton had talked recently about his desire to return to management again as soon as he finds the right job.
