This is the period you make a resolution to become the handier, more capable DIYer you’ve always wanted to be—and stop putting off the hard jobs you’ve been reluctant to tackle. We will be sharing with you today the project and fixes that anybody can tackle with enough determination.
Here we go!
1.HOW TO FIX A CLOGGED SINK
Clogged sinks are a fact of life, so why not learn how to fix them yourself and save the time and money of calling in a plumber? It’s not such a Herculean Task. All you really need is a sink plunger, rag, and a bit of elbow grease.
2.CHANGE A FLAT TIRE
Don’t put yourself at the mercy of a towing company everytime! Learn how to change your own flat tire. Make sure you are pulled off the side of the road as far as possible and periodically check to ensure your spare tire is filled with air and in good condition.
3.PATCH HOLE IN WALL
Don’t live with that unsightly hole in the wall. Patching drywall is a DIY fix that anyone can learn, and there are kits you can buy that make it even easier. Small holes can be patched over with drywall tape or a self-adhesive drywall patch. Try it out!
4.CHANGE YOUR OWN OIL
You might get a little greasy, but changing your own oil is rewarding and can be money-saving. All it takes is a few easy to find parts and a new oil and filter to get started. I promise, once you’ve mastered the oil change, you’ll be empowered to handle more of your car’s maintenance.
5.TOILET TRIAGE
Ewww, you say? Oh well, in the life of every homeowner, there will be some clogged toilets. But they’re simple to fix with a plunger, an auger, rubber gloves, and a bucket. If the bowl is in danger of overflowing, shut off the water supply valve behind the toilet and empty out half of the water. Try a plunger first, but if that doesn’t work, grab an auger.
Now that you know it’s possible to handle things yourself, get down and do it yourself! You could even make fun videos of you engaging in these activities and share them with close friends. You bet they would look at you with awe!
