A magistrate’s court in Yaba, Lagos State, on Monday, granted bail to singer Azeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, and Lagos socialite Balogun Eletu, known as Sam Larry, in the sum of N20 million with three responsible sureties.
Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and two others were arraigned on October 6 and remanded over their alleged involvement in the circumstances surrounding the death of musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
The magistrate, Adeola Olatunbosun, told the defendants to submit their passports and ordered them to report weekly to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti.
She also warned that no one should contact her directly on the case. Any attempts to contact me directly would be recorded and potentially disclosed in open court proceedings,” she added.
Recall that Naira Marley and Sam Larry were accused of physically assaulting Mohbad after his death. They were arrested upon their return to Nigeria and remanded in custody on October 4, 2023, over allegations of bullying Mohbad.
