Investors recorded a loss of over N601 billion this week. This loss was a result of negative sentiments which persisted and caused the total market capitalization and All-Share Index (ASI) to fall by 2.08% apiece.
Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) assured investors of its established priority in protecting their confidence in the Nigerian capital market.
Speaking on the outcome of the first quarter Capital Market Committee meeting Director-General of SEC, Lamido Yuguda, stated that “Protection of investors is the central mandate of the Commission, and when the Commission protects investors, we do not discriminate between minority and majority shareholders.”
