To honor the late Professor Jelili Adebisi Omotola (SAN), who served as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos and was a renowned legal practitioner, his family has established a 10-year, N5 Million endowment in his name to reward top students in the Department of Private and Property Law at the university.

Prizes of N150,000 for the best student in Land Law (Year 4), N150,000 for the best student in Conveyancing Law (final year), and N200,000 for the best LLM student in Secured Credit Transaction Law will be awarded.

The late Professor Omotola taught at the university for 29 years, served as Vice-Chancellor from 1995-2000, and was the first and only lawyer to hold this position in the university’s 60-year history. He was also twice Dean of the Faculty of Law.
