Former Nigerian education minister, Obiageli ‘Oby’ Ezekwesili, has taken a taunt at the National Assembly over the saddening facts in the country.
Ezekwesili’s reproach of the country’s lawmakers came days after the invasion of the Kuje Correctional Facility in the country’s capital, Abuja.
The activist and former presidential aspirant, via her, Twitter handle on Friday, criticized members of the Senate and House of Representatives for being dissociated from the glaring hardships of Nigerians.
She said: “What do the lawmakers do for Nigerians? What does Nigeria imply to you all? What explains your existence as our Legislative Arm in our Democracy? Is there anything about the terrible state of Nigeria that bothers you at all?
“It is a huge shame to have this massive body of lawmakers costing the country so much money because of your constant intention to take more than you give the country and community, and yet all we have is a Legislature on permanent break from the hardships of citizens. Shame!”
