Boss Mustapha, the Presidential Task Force through the Chairman of PTF and the Secretary-General of the Federation has announced via the press briefing that the current gradual ease of lockdown will be extended for two weeks from 18th May to June 1. He also explained that the extension of this lockdown would enable other key players in other industries to prepare for the final ease of lockdown.
The Secretary-General of the Federation also said “the reality is that in spite of the modest progress made, Nigeria is not yet ready for full opening of the economy and tough decisions have to be taken for the good of the greater majority.
“Any relaxation will only portend grave danger for our populace. Advisedly, the current phase of eased restriction will be maintained for another two weeks during which stricter enforcement and persuasion measures will be pursued.”
The Secretary-General of the Federation however mentioned that Kano will remain on full lockdown for another two weeks.
