Today is another Wednesday and we are crushing on Adesua Etomi-Wellington, the delectable Nollywood actress, who has made a name for herself both locally and internationally. Adesua was born in Imo, on the 22nd of February. She attended Corona Schools in Victoria Island, before proceeding to Queens College, where she only spent a few time before moving on to the United Kingdon at the age of 13.
She has a diploma in physical theatre, musical theatre and performing arts from the City college Coventry in 2004. After her diploma, she later graduated from the University of Wolverhampton with a first class in Drama and Performance. Her success in the movie industry isn’t far fetched, seeing that the actress has a combination of theoretical as well as physical knowledge of the industry.
Her role in the movie; “Knocking on Heaven’s Door” gained her exposure into the movie industry in Nigeria. A year later she was nominated for several awards and a couple of them including Actress of the Year at the ELOY awards, and the Discovery of the Year Award at the Golden Movie Awards, and the Best Actress in a Drama at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards for her role in the movie- Falling. She has been nominated for over 15 awards including; Best Actress Drama/TV series at the 2017 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, Best Lead Actress in a Film at the 2017 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. In March 2019, she was featured on the cover of Vogue’s list of Global superstars.
