According to reports in Turkey, Jamal Khashoggi’s body was dissolved in chemicals and poured down the drain at the Saudi Arabia consulate.
Samples taken from the drains at the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul showed traces of acid, according to a newspaper report in Turkey.
This has led investigators to believe that the reporter’s body was dissolved and disposed of through the drains at the consulate.
Khashoggi was last seen at entering the Turkey consulate in Istanbul. Saudi authorities initially denied having any knowledge about his whereabouts but subsequently admitted the 59 year-old died after an altercations with some of their agents at the consulate.
Khashoggi had gone to the consulate to obtain documents to help me marry his Turkish girlfriend.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had from the onset insisted that the Journalist was murdered by Saudi authorities who then went into great length to dispose his body.
Khashoggi’s Turkish fiancee Hatice Cengiz seem to confirm the rumour of his latest development after she took to Twitter on Thursday to express her sorrow about the disappearance of the body. She said : “I’m unable to express my sorrow to hear about dissolving your body Jamal!”
“They killed you and chopped up your body, depriving me and your family of conducting your funeral prayer and burying you in Madinah as wished.”
