These days a lot of people find it hard to get enough sleep on a regular basis. You can thank a million and one different things for that—including the fact that some snacks you might be eating before bed could be affecting your sleep pattern. It might seem these foods aren’t giving you any trouble falling asleep, they could be secretly disrupting the sleep that you do get, which could explain why you feel so tired even though you just slept. Crazy right?? With that being said, these are the five worst foods for sleep. That’s not to say you can’t ever eat them at night with dinner, but if you do, try to make it at least a few hours before you go to bed so you have ample time to digest.
- Caffeine- Anything with caffeine is bad for sleep, because it’s a stimulant. Caffeine can stay in your system for up to eight hours, which is why many experts recommend having your last cup of coffee before 5 P.M. (or earlier, depending on when you go to bed).
- Alcohol- Yes, booze can knock you out, but the sleep you get after one or two drinks won’t be the best. it would probably keep you in the lighter stages of sleep for longer and might make you wake up more during the night.
3.Sugar- especially the added kind, the source of many of our healthy eating-related woes—is famous for its energizing qualities, which is exactly the opposite of what you want before bedtime. You need to sleep, rest, get some shut eye, What will you be using all that energy for.
- Eating foods that are very spicy or full of acid—both two things that are already more likely to cause reflux or heartburn-can compound this effect.
5.Anything that’s particularly hard to digest, like fibrous or cruciferous vegetables. Fibrous foods like beans and cruciferous vegetables like broccoli are both a bit harder on your stomach, because they contain indigestible sugars.
So straight to the point, Avoid them. Stop eating as from 7pm to avoid an uncomfortable sleep and also belly fat lol.
