The first ever Nigeria Bloggers fair ended at the weekend at Oceanview restaurant in V/I Lagos, Sponsored by Fidelity Bank PLC the fair was aimed at bringing together both established and upcoming bloggers and related players in the digital media industry.
It also sought to stimulate cross fertilization of ideas amongst players in this area; encourage them on how they can use their platform for developmental objectives, as well as how they can run as profitable enterprises.
The event ended on the high note as Uche Pedro Founder, BellaNaija.com, Noble Igwe a founding partner at 360nobs.com a front line blog with over 30 writers , Opeyemi Awoyemi founder at Omg.com.ng , whogohost.com and jobberman.com, Japheth Omojuwa and Mayor Esiaba Consumer Engagement Manager, NOKIA – West Africa took turns to facilitate different sessions of the workshop.
In his closing remark, The MD & CEO, Fidelity Bank PLC, Mr. Reginald Ihejiahi, OFR, encouraged participants to realize their powers as bloggers and to exercise them with responsibility: “We are a growing nation. We have our challenges, no doubt. The duty of journalism, whether the traditional model or the new digital model should be to educate and to build”.
