First, the ambience. You know how big we are on great spots in Lagos, Nigeria. This time, it was the soothing poolside of Oasis Med Spa in Ikoyi, Lagos, where MediaHangoutNG gathered about media folks on the evening of Sunday, 27th November, 2016. It was an evening of interaction, relaxation and motivation.
Personalities and practitioners from radio, PR, television, social media, newspapers, blogs, creatives and more, were all there. The likes of actor cum online comedy sensation Frank Donga, Radio and TV gurus Chico of Classic fm, Sulaiman Aledeh and Chamberlain Usoh of Channels TV, Jonathan James Lyamgohn of Urban FM, EbonyLife TV’s Doris Okafor, Bayo Olupohonda of Naij.com, Sola Thompson of Urban Radio, The PR Lady Aniwura Omolayo, Tolulope Adeleru Balogun of Nigeria Info, Frank Uzuegbunam of Businessday newspaper and social media gurus Demola Expoze and Dat Guy Kofo were all assembled.
Host of the evening was Inspiration FM’s Rufai Oseni.
The idea was to celebrate the achievements of media personalities, share knowledge, network and just let their hair down, as 2016 counts down.
Christmas came early for The FabMum, ThePamilerin and Funke Osae-Brown who won spa vouchers. Frank Donga grabbed the ultimate gift certificate. All courtesy Oasis Med Spa. Cointreau on ice and Pepsi kept guests happy with some really exquisite cocktails, all evening.
It was announced that the MediaHangoutNG village square, an initiative of Urban10 Hub, will now be a quarterly event based on popular demand. According to creator of the concept, Princess Rosemary Egabor, the vision is to improve how media practitioners and the public perceive the Nigerian media, by bringing dignity and respect back to the profession through trainings, online campaigns and networking events where issues are discussed and solutions created.
