Although it is unlikely to make a significant impact on the Republican candidate, former Florida governor, Jeb Bush has endorsed Ted Cruz ahead of controversial business man, Donald Trump.
Jeb Bush, also a Republican Presidential hopeful at one point before he packed up his pitiful campaign said in a statement, “Today, I am endorsing Ted Cruz for president, Ted is a consistent, principled conservative who has demonstrated the ability to appeal to voters and win primary contests.”
The Republican primaries sees Donald Trump in the lead with Ted Cruz as his only decent rival. Marco Rubio dropped out of the race a few weeks ago and former Ohio governor John Kasich hasn’t been impressive either and it only looks like a matter of time before he packs up his campaign.
Jeb Bush’s endorsement will realistically do very little to stop Donald Trump whose popularity only seems to be going up.
Jeb Bush did not pass up the opportunity to take a swipe at Donald Trump, “For the sake of our party and country, we must move to overcome the divisiveness and vulgarity Donald Trump has brought into the political arena,” Bush said, “or we will certainly lose our chance to defeat the Democratic nominee and reverse President Obama’s failed policies.”
