The coach of Italian side, Juventus, Massimiliano Allegri was linked to the Chelsea job last week, with some reports claiming that he had signed a three year contract to take over at the end of summer.
Chelsea FC are without a permanent head coach after firing Jose Mourinho in December and hiring Guus Hiddink only on a temporary basis.
48 year old Allegri who has had massive success at Juventus is the only coach that has been seriously linked with the Chelsea job as Pep Guardiola has signed for Manchester City and Carlo Ancelloti signed for Bayern Munich.
Allegri has won the Serie A title with former team AC Milan and his present team Juventus and guided Juventus to an unexpected Champions League final last season.
He talked down speculation linking to the Chelsea job at a press conference yesterday. “There’s nothing to it. I cannot either confirm or deny something that doesn’t exist.
“I want this matter over and done with now. What’s important for me right now is to get to the end of the season with Juventus and try and win some silverware.” Allegri said at the press conference.
Juventus are currently on a 14 match winning streak and will face Bayern Munich in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
