Two U.N peacekeepers and a contractor have been confirmed dead following a mortar attack on a U.N mission in Mali.
Today’s attack comes just a week after two gunmen held hostages at the Radisson Blu hotel in Bamakko. The mortar attacks on the U.N mission in Bamakko took place yesterday.
No group has claimed responsibility for today’s attack.
The Chief of the U.N mission, Mongi Hamid said in a statement that Fridays attacks “will not impede the determination of the United Nations to support the Malian people and the peace process, including through assisting the implementation of the Agreement on Peace and Reconciliation in Mali,”
