The debut edition of The Greatest Of All Times (GOAT) Concert packaged by OSD Entertainment may have come and gone but the thrilling experience will always linger in the memories of those who graced the events.
The GOAT concert which was held on Saturday, 14th November, 2015 at the Shell hall of the MUSON Center, Lagos is aimed at celebrating musicians who have made the most impact in Nigeria’s urbane music culture from the 90s .
The debut edition featured dazzling performances from old and new school artistes like Tony Tetuila, Paul Play, Olu Maintain Styl Plus, Sound Sultan and others.
The concert started at about 10:15pm contrary to the supposed kick off time of 7pm due to red carpet activities and the late arrival of some artistes who would perform at the concert.
Although YBNL Lead act, Olamide was also lined up for the concert, his absent was not really felt as the artistes on ground really gave the guests a nostalgic and thrilling moments with their performances.
With ace comedian and MC, Gbenga Adeyinka as the host, the concert started in this order with a thrilling performance from CHOC CITY’S, KOKER who wowed the audience with the live band as he sang some evergreen tsongs of Sir Shina Peters.
Baseline Entertainments Afro-soul singer, Aramide also gave the audience a lovely moment as she sang late Christy Essien Igbokwe’s Omo mi seun rere, before singing her own songs. highpoint of Aramide’s performance was however the moment when Veteran WAKA music singer, Queen Salawa Abeni joined her on stage.
Paul Play sang some of his old songs like, Angel of my life and Eleda mi
Toni Tetuila performed his old hits like, Fenfe nefe, Two Women and My Car.
Dj Jimmy jatt also gave the crowd a swell time as he mixed some old school songs to which got everyone dancing to some old dance steps like galala, makosa, suo and alanta.
Olu Maintain also also gave the crowd another exciting moment when he performed some of his hits like Yahoozee.
The show got to a climax with the performances of Naija Ninja’s Sound Sultan who thrilled the crowd with his old hits like Jangbajantis, Bush meet, Area, Orobo and Kokose before Abuja based pop group, STYL PLUS rounded up the show with their love tracks like Olufunmi and Runaway.
Speaking at the event, the CEO of OSD Entertainment, Omoyeni Disu thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the show for their contributions while her mother also added to the moment of appreciation where she disclosed that she almost succeeded in convincing her daughter, Omoyeni, not to go on with the show.
The concert also witnessed the presence of numerous Old School and New School celebriries like Queen Salawa Abeni, Eniola Badmus, Omobaba, Laff-up, Ben7, Azadus, Ketchup amongst others.
