The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s opposition party has revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari’s list of prospective ministers is “nothing to be excited about”.
Coming four months after taking power, there were considerable expectations as to which persons would make the list. The Senate President read out the names of ministerial nominees at a Senate Plenary session today.
The initial list of 21 names had former governors, Babatunde Raji Fashola, Kayode Fayemi as well as Rotimi Amaechi. In a statement by Olisa Metuh, the Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic, the party expressed a measure of disappointment at the nominees.
“looking at the list, it is hard to put a finger on why it should take any serious-minded and focused government, six months after its election to assemble such a regular team.” Chief Metuh said.
