Social media conversation has been sparked by popular influencer Wizarab’s response to a video that shows fashion designer Veekee James surprising her husband, Femi Atere, on his 33rd birthday.

The event was held on Tuesday, May 14, 2025. Veekee planned an emotional surprise to commemorate the event, which was virally shared online and caught on camera.

Visibly affected by the gesture, Femi is shown in the video being escorted into a balloon-filled chamber while wearing a blindfold.

While many praised the surprise as touching and romantic, Wizarab offered a contrasting opinion on X (formerly Twitter), where he commented:

“It is not cute. I don’t know one man who likes this. Some things are just feminine. Treat a man like a man. She is treating him the way she wants to be treated, not how a man should be treated.”

His remark went viral very fast and elicited conflicting responses.

While some people defended Veekee’s strategy, claiming that love should be openly expressed without regard to gender, others backed his viewpoint, claiming it reflected conventional masculinity.
