VDM Vs GTBank: “Stop Protesting On My Page” – Peller Slams Netizens

Amid the recent issues trending online about social media critic, Verydarkman, Nigerian Tiktoker, Habeeb Hamzat, aka Peller, has reacted to what fans of the activist have been doing on his page.

The livestreamer who recently warned Nigerians not to use his page to antagonise the government amid the 30DaysRantChallenge that went viral on TikTok some months ago has had reasons to slam netizens again, especially fans of Verydarkman.

In a trending clip, the 19-year-old was seen hosting one of his usual live sessions but was left agitated at what some Nigerians were doing on his page.

Peller slammed netizens who took to the comment section of his livestream to demand for the release of recently arrested social activist, Verydarkman.

The TikToker expressed concern that continued activism on his page could lead to his account being flagged or suspended by the platform’s moderators.

A hashtag has been created for VDM since after his arrest, and it has gained massive momentum. Fans of VDM have loaded Peller’s comment section with this hashtag.

Peller said:

“Hey, Free VDM in my own comment section. Bro, no be me be EFCC ana. Please leave here, you’re now putting crying emoji. If dem ban me, I go change am for you”.

While Peller’s appeal may seem like a move to distance himself from the controversy, it underscores the complexities of navigating social media activism.

Influencers often find themselves at the intersection of public advocacy and platform regulations, making it crucial to understand the potential consequences of online actions.

In the video, he further explained that he has spoken about it on TikTok and that they’ll be free VDM soon.

As the #FREEVDM movement continues, it remains to be seen how influencers like Peller will manage their platforms while supporting causes they believe in.

The situation serves as a reminder of the power and responsibility that come with a large online following.
