Despite months of uncertainty and surviving a no confidence vote in February, Ukraine Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk announced his resignation on Sunday.
He was dogged by allegations of corruption and a failure to implement reforms.
Ukraine’s Members of Parliament voted to approve a new Prime Minister.
Volodymyr Groysman the speaker of the Parliament was approved after winning the vote by a large margin.
He told Parliament after his emergence, “Together we will make Ukraine successful”.
President Poroshenko is also facing pressure to resign and his name cropped in implicating circumstances in the Panama Papers leak.
