Tochi Wigwe, daughter of the late Herbert Wigwe, former group chief executive officer of Access Holdings, has married investment executive Wilson Aikhomu in a traditional wedding ceremony in Lagos.
The ceremony took place in Ikoyi on Wednesday, in the presence of family members and close friends.
A video from the event showed the families performing traditional marriage rites, including the payment of the bride price, the signing of family documents and the formal handing over of the bride to the groom’s family.
The wedding marks a new chapter for Tochi, whose family suffered a major tragedy in February 2024.
Her father, Herbert, her mother, Chizoba, and her elder brother, Chizi, were among six people killed in a helicopter crash in California on February 9, 2024.
Since the tragedy, Tochi has continued to uphold her father’s legacy through the Herbert Onyewumbu Wigwe (HOW) Foundation, where she serves as a director.
She studied at New York University before obtaining a master’s degree from Imperial College London. She previously worked as an analyst at Access Bank and interned at Coronation Merchant Bank.
Her husband, Aikhomu, is a Lagos-based investment professional and the managing partner and chief investment officer of Zoya Admiralty.
He is the son of the late Rear Admiral Joseph Aikhomu and nephew of Augustus Aikhomu, a former admiral who served as Nigeria’s de facto vice president under military president General Ibrahim Babangida between 1986 and 1993.
