Taraba State Government Confirms Lassa Fever Outbreak
The Taraba state government has confirmed that there is a Lassa fever outbreak in the state.
One person has reportedly died from the disease while two persons have been quarantined at the Federal Medical center in Jalingo.
Lassa fever is a virus that was first discovered jn the town of Lassa, Borno state and is spread through contact with infected rodents. It is also spread through contact with an infected person.
The state government has disclosed that it has responded to the outbreak and has asked that anyone with symptoms of Lassa fever report to the nearest hospital.
